The Best Facial Cleansers: Clarisonic and Nutrasonic

Clarisonic If you're serious about skincare you need a sonic cleanser.  Like the Sonicare toothbrush, the Clarisonic and Nutra Sonic Skin Cleansing Systems use sonic frequency to move soft bristles back and forth hundreds of times a second, resulting in a thorough yet gentle clean that also helps your skincare regimen products work more effectively.  I own both, and have a slight preference for the Clarisonic, but the Nutra Sonic offers nearly comparable performance at a significantly lower price.  Although the "Professional" models offer multiple speed and body-brush options, I prefer the more practical size of the travel versions. (Note that the smaller Clarisonic Mia doesn't have a charging cradle, but since it only needs to be charged once a week or so, I find the cradle unnecessary).  Buy the Clarisonic Mia for about $125 at amazon.com, buy the Nutra Sonic starting at $70 at amazon.com. Don't be suckered by the cheap price and competitive cleansing claims of the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System or the Avon Solutions Vibes Power Cleanser.  The rotating brush and abrasive cleanser in the Olay system don't have the same gentle thoroughness of sonic cleansing.  And the low-power vibration and disposable pads on the Avon product are a nuisance.
