The Avon Man Recommends

In 1995, I looked in the mirror and realized I was going directly from acne to wrinkles. I decided it was time to put my Yale biology degree to work — not to create something new, but to find the very best, clinically-proven anti-wrinkle treatments. The big breakthrough at the time (and still one of the most effective wrinkle fighters) was alpha hydroxy acids. They were new to the US market in a skin cream called Anew from Avon. I started using it. It worked. It really worked. And I started recommending it to friends. I’d never seen an Avon catalog or met an Avon Lady, but I checked the “click here for more information on earning opportunities with Avon” and two weeks later, I was a Representative. Originally intending just to order for myself and my family, I quickly joined the ranks of the top 10% of Representatives nationwide, and for many years was the top-selling Rep in Manhattan south of 96h street, where I learned a lot from an amazing group of people who had built their businesses in a variety of inspired, creative ways.

SKINCARE

Anew Isa-Knox 
This is my current core skincare regimen, and I’ve gotten the best results from the Night Cream, plus either the the Serum and the Clinical Collagen Booster. If I switch up my regimen, it always has at least one of these products in it. 

Anew Platinum Night Cream
I always come back to this night cream at least a few months of the year (the driest ones). If you think of your skin cells as a tent, paxillin is like the poles that keep the tent up — keeping your skin cells full and firm. Anew Platinum has technology that stimulates the production of paxillin. Much like collagen or elastin, it’s a crucial structural component that keeps your skin healthy and younger looking. Although this product was developed for and marketed to women in their 60s, it dramatically reduced my deep smile lines, and I recommend it all of my HIV+ customers to help combat the effects of antiretroviral medications. (None of my customers like the Anew Platinum Eye Cream. It’s way too thick. Choose an eye cream from a different product family – ask me for a recommendation.)

Belif Aqua Bomb
I started buying Belif skincare in Korea about five years ago, so I was really excited to see it added to my Avon store. The Aqua Bomb line is my favorite — lightweight, fragrance free and non-greasy, but really hydrating. I use the cleanser all the time, and the True Cream Aqua Bomb in warm/humid climates.

Dr. Belmeur Cica
Cica was the Korean must-have ingredient in 2020. It comes from Tiger Grass, which Asian tigers rub their injured skin against to help heal it. I really like the Ampule, which I use as an aftershave and serum. The Hydro cream is lighter and the Recovery cream is heavier and more suitable for dry skin. 

Anew Clinical Extra Strength Retexturizing Peel
This alpha hydroxy peel is proven superior to a professional dermatologist’s peel when used 2-3 times/week for 4-6 weeks. Just swipe the self-neutralizing glycolic acid pad over clean skin and apply a night cream 5 minutes later.

Anew Ultimate Contouring Eye System
This is the most popular eye product I sell — the best for under eye bags.

Avon Magix Face Perfector
I don’t use makeup, but I use this miracle before important business meetings or social engagements when my face needs a little airbrushing.  (I’ve wowed colleagues by demonstrating the before and after live on Zoom). It’s a colorless gel that dries down to a matte powder, absorbing oil for up to 8 hours, providing spf 20 protection, and using Avon’s light diffusing technology to hide fine wrinkles and imperfections like a sheer foundation, but it’s colorless, so no one will know you’re wearing it. 

BODY CARE

Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Body Cream
This body moisturizer  is super hydrating with 15 different moisturizing ingredients, yet non-greasy and quickly absorbed.
Moisture Therapy Intensive Hand Cream
This super-thick hand cream is perfect for really dry, chapped hands.
Foot Works Anti-fungal Foot Spray
Super effective and super affordable. If you’ve got the itch, you need this.  (Also a quick spray after the shower at the gym will protect you from getting athlete’s foot.)
Foot Works Cracked Heel Relief Cream
Avon’s most popular foot care product.
On Duty Unscented Roll-on Anti-Perspirant
Effective, non-whiteining, non-sticky fragrance-free protection. I generally don’t wear anti-perspirant, but when I need to stay dry, this works.
Avon Senses Bubble Bath
Photo stylists love Avon bubble bath because the bubbles last so long. It comes in a variety of standard and seasonal scents, and an unscented version. 
Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard
Personally, I use DEET-based insect repellents, but I know many people prefer DEET-free protection against insects.  For them I recommend Bug Guard Expedition (the green can/bottle) for mosquitoes, and Bug Guard Plus Picaridin (the silver can/bottle) for biting flies.

LIP CARE
