For many years now, Behr Paints from Home Depot have rated best in Consumer Reports testing.  Once again, in their biggest paint test ever, reported in their March issue, Behr came out on top, this time, with some of the lowest volatile organic compounds, making them among the greenest as well.  The only exception noted in the report was for maximum fade resistance in a sunny room.  The winner on that count was Benjamin Moore Regal. Whichever paint you choose, do yourself a favor and purchase some small samples, paint them on your wall, and look at them under various lighting conditions.  That perfect shade of plum will always look very different on your walls than it did on that little paint chip in the store.
