Consumer Reports has published its Annual Auto Issue.  Their April issue is required reading for anyone considering the purchase of a new or used car.  Most of us have an emotional attachment to the brand, styling and features of the cars we buy, and I'm not saying that these aren't important — but at least make sure you've considered the performance, reliability and safety recommendations from Consumer Reports before you buy.  Here are Consumer Reports top recommendations for 2009:
