The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book 2008
The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book arrived in my mailbox today. For decades, the Christmas Book has been known for its outrageous, outlandish, over-the-top gifts, particularly the his-and-hers gifts, this years: his and hers one-of-a-kind, life-size sculptures of yourselves in Lego blocks by artist Nathan Sawaya, for a cool $60,000, delivery costs not included. Most interesting this year: A 35-year collection of 45-RPM records: 18,400 records representing every Billboard top 100 hit, from January 1, 1955 through December 31, 1990 for $275,000. Most expensive this year: A four-year Thoroughbred Racing Stable package for $10,000,000. In the company of such excess, there are always a couple of gift items that carry the caché of Neiman Marcus at surprisingly low prices. My pic this year: a Michael Aram Stainless Steel Pomegranate Nut Bowl for $75. View the whole Christmas Book online at NeimanMarcus.com.
