My New Sofa: Room & Board
I’ve chronicaled many of my new apartment furnishings here, but the one that took the greatest amount of shopping and deliberation was my sofa. I looked at hundreds, online and offline, and settled on the André from Room&Board. Room& Board is a small, new-ish chain of home furnishing stores in five states, with home delivery available nationwide from $69-199 per order. My friend Michael called it "the Banana Republic" of furniture, and it is an apt descriptor. The furniture is stylish (in a kind of neutral, safe way), well-constructed and affordably priced. Each sofa model is stocked for immediate delivery in one fabric; a selection of alternate colors are available at no additional cost, but with a 6-10 week wait. Many alternate fabrics are available for an upcharge and a wait. Check out one of their stores if you’re nearby. If you’re looking to place an online order, I can highly recommend my sales associate, Michael Morris for assistance.
