Although Fire Island is best known for it’s two predominantly gay communities, The Pines and Cherry Grove, it comprises a great diversity of communities and summer residents.  Saltaire is popular with upper east siders. Davis Park attracts a high hair/acrylic nails/big boat crowd on the weekends. Point O’ Woods was established as a religious enclave in in 1894, and remains restricted by virtue of Church ownership of its residences.  But wherever they live, everyone comes here to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
