I took Duey and Elbee on a long walk down Hudson River Park yesterday.  They enjoyed the walk immensely, but for them, excursions are a distant second to food treats.  It’s all about the treats. Elbee will eat just about any treat, but Duey is particularly fussy. He’s most partial to banana, cheese and chicken, but strangely, when it comes to treats made for dogs, the more natural and highbrow they are, the less interested he is.  He draws the line somewhere between Milk Bones and Iams.  So I was surprised that he went nuts for the sample gourmet treats from the Dog Town Bites cart we stumbled across in the meatpacking district.  He nearly knocked the cart over trying to get a second helping.  These healthy, human-grade, yoghurt and carob-based products are 70% organic, and tasty enough that you’ll be eating off the dog’s plate, for a change.
